Duane Reade does not honor it's frequent spender program. To qualify for a discount you must accumulate 500 points. After that you are supposed to be offerd a $5 discount.

What repeatedly happens is that you go over the 500 point mark, and they tell you you can use next time. The next time the points disappear. I have had this happen several times, and every time they say you never had the points. 4/16 had 606 points and same thing happened. Next time only had 188. This time kept my receipt and the manager said it happens all the time (34th and 3rd location).

They couldn't get in touch with loyalty program so told me to. You will never get a live person, so sent a message with details to their customer service email.

Told that I had used the points on a day I was no where near a store all day. Know it is not a big amount, but Duane Reade's service has always been shakey. Will now go to Walgreens and CVS.

Monetary Loss: $50.
